How I think

Cases

Three problems taken from a blank prompt to a defensible product decision: framing, design, the strategic leap, and the numbers to fund it. All three are self-initiated case studies or recruitment assignments, not client work.

Product strategy & platform thinking

A struggling dairy farm, turned into a multi-tenant platform

No demand visibility, orders on paper. Framed the business, designed the product, then turned it into a platform any dairy could run.
Open the caseClose

Business problem

A family-run organic dairy couldn’t predict demand and took every order by hand: surplus one day, unfulfilled orders the next, and anything after the daily cut-off simply didn’t get delivered.

Frameworks used

4C canvasPersona designJourney mappingMarket sizing

Five highlights

  • Mapped the whole business on a 4C canvas before proposing a single feature.
  • Designed for 8 personas across the value chain, not one ‘customer’.
  • One flow across web, app and front desk: search, order, pay, supply.
  • The leap: redrew a single-client product as a multi-tenant platform.
  • Sized the prize at ~₹3.3B target-segment spend, ₹5-7.5M revenue even at low share.

Groups within groups: a moderation model for WhatsApp

A group-to-subgroup tree plus a Moderator role - proposed in early 2020, ~2.5 years before WhatsApp shipped Communities.
Open the caseClose

Business problem

Big groups don’t scale. Communities of businesses, product users and education cohorts had no structure and no way to share moderation.

Frameworks used

Competitive analysisPersona analysisPRDRelease planningRAG success metrics

Five highlights

  • Scored WhatsApp against Discord on group management, communication and tooling.
  • Nested groups into sub-groups, with a new Moderator role alongside Admin.
  • A clear permissions split: who can pin, ban, edit.
  • Four shippable releases: create, modify, assign, action.
  • Called it early: WhatsApp announced Communities in April 2022.

The Puppeteer: content where the viewer pulls the strings

Contentdt (content with a decision tree) - video with a built-in decision tree, where the viewer chooses what the characters do. One idea, two applications: media and training.

Business problem

The OTT market is a red ocean. Netflix, Hotstar and YouTube compete on the same seven factors: content volume, proprietary shows, ads, price, live.

Frameworks used

Blue ocean strategy canvasSTPProduct spec

Five highlights

  • Found the empty water: interactivity, a factor no incumbent offers.
  • Segmented on behaviour, not demographics - people who lean in, not back.
  • Two promises: viewers become the puppeteer, creators build intelligent content.
  • Storyboarded a familiar tale as branching content to prove the format.
  • Its learning application carried into my scenario-based training method.

Frameworks

Methods I originated and use on real work. Take any of them - they are lenses you can use.

AI Trustworthiness MatrixRate eight AI-trust dimensions, then pair each rating with how sure you are of it.MoreLess

Built on the NIST AI RMF. Each dimension gets a rating, how confident you are in it, and what you actually inspected. The action comes from the cell, not the score: a low score you are sure of and a high score you are guessing about need very different responses.

It turns ‘the model is probably fine’ into a prioritised fix-list. First proved on my own Safari assistant.

PKVit prioritisationScore features from painkiller to vitamin to force a clean ranking.MoreLess

How sharply does each feature relieve real pain, versus how much does it merely add? When everything looks urgent, it makes the trade-off visible to stakeholders who are otherwise arguing from gut, and gives a defensible reason for what ships first.

Goal-based travel package modelBuild a trip around the traveller’s goal, not the destination.MoreLess

Multi-criteria and affinity scoring that assembles a package around what the traveller wants to achieve. Backed by 100-user primary research with Chase cardholders, then built as a working prototype - a scoring engine with an output layer that shows why each package scored as it did.

AHP-based content schedulingTurn an argument from opinion into a weighted, auditable decision.MoreLess

Applied the Analytic Hierarchy Process, a multi-criteria decision model, to a content-scheduling decision people were arguing from opinion. Written up as a white paper.
